‘The lighting of the lamps’
Led by Fiona Owen and Dr Keith Beasley
As the year deepens and we move towards the longest night, we will explore themes of light-in-darkness, losing, finding and new birth. What IS the creative spark? Or en-lighten-ment? How does this light help us to truly see and to really know?
The day is open to all levels of ability and interest. Please bring pens, notebooks and, if possible, something related to the theme to read or sing (of your own or others’ work) for the culminating session of the day
where we will also be joined by:
author Eileen Dewhurst, who will be reading one of her stories
from the brand new Honno anthology of ghost stories, The Wish Dog
Fiona Owen writes poetry and prose, teaches creative writing, literature and other arts subjects for the Open University, and is training as a Focusing Practitioner. She writes and records songs with Gorwel Owen and runs ‘Rhwng: the Point Between’ events at Canolfan Ucheldre Centre.
Keith Beasley originally trained as an electronic engineer, then took up Reiki Healing, eventually running retreats in Portugal. In 2013 he completed his PhD at Bangor University on Transcending Thought – higher level of consciousness. He is now a visionary with the BodyMind Institute, a life-coach and soft-skills trainer, always open to new ways of integrating the creative process into his life and work.
